The West Coast Eagles are a Perth based team, playing their home ground games at the recently built Optus Stadium in Perth. The first team from Western Australia to join the AFL, West Coast retains a large following, and always attracts large crowds at their Home and Away matches. In 2023, it was  released that the West Coast Eagles club membership numbers totalled to 103,275, the second highest amongst all clubs!

The West Coast Eagles were formed in 1986. They played their first season the following year, in 1987. They made it to their first grand final in 1991, which they lost to Hawthorn, but they won the big dance in both 1992 and 1994. Those two Grand Final victories made the Eagles one of the best teams of 1990s. They won a third flag in 2006, but went into something of a slump after that.

They finished last in 2010, but bounced back to secure fourth place on the ladder the following year. They made it to their sixth Grand Final in 2015, but Hawthorn toppled them yet again. They took down Collingwood in 2018, earning them their fourth Premiership and cementing their place as the best non-Victorian team in modern AFL.
