GMHBA Stadium
GMHBA Stadium is the iconic home ground of the Geelong Cats in the Australian Football League (AFL), located in Geelong, Victoria. Originally known as Kardinia Park and first used by the club in 1941, it has been progressively redeveloped over decades into one of Australia’s premier regional sporting venues. The stadium now boasts a capacity of around 40,000 spectators following major upgrades—including the new Joel Selwood Stand—which have transformed it into the largest stadium outside Australia’s capital cities and enhanced facilities for both AFL men’s and women’s competitions. GMHBA Stadium features multiple grandstands, modern player and media amenities, varied spectator experiences, and is also used for community events and other sports, reflecting its central role in Geelong’s sporting and cultural life.
