Western Bulldogs

Before they became The Western Bulldogs, the team from Footscray was known as the Footscray Football Club. Based in what is now the inner west of Melbourne, Victoria. Having been active since 1877, The Western Bulldogs are up there with the longest-running AFL teams in existence. Their home games are played at the picturesque Marvel Stadium based in the Docklands of Melbourne.

In 1996, Footscray FC went through a rebranding to become the Western Bulldogs. This was during a time when many of the AFL teams were incorporating their mascots in with the titles of their team names and the once Footscray FC team followed suit.
